Mercury Racing 450R Performance Upgrade Kit by Kong Performance
The Kong 450R upgrade kit was developed from the ground up with the goals of increased efficiency, durability, and additional power delivered to an already fantastic engine. Each part was carefully thought out and designed to work together to create an absolutely incredible performance package.
BACK TO BACK DYNO TESTING
The Kong 450R kit was tested back to back on an outboard engine Dyno at Race Marine in Australia. Testing was conducted jointly by Race Marine and Motec using Kong Performance's 450R development engine. As seen in the product photos, the stock engine was first baseline tested. Next, the Kong 450R kit was installed and tuned with a Motec ECU. The results were well over 150+ hp gain. These are verified and documented third party back to back dyno tests.
WATER TESTED - PROVEN RESULTS (Time to back up the dyno sheets)
The first public outing with the Kong 450R kit was at the Lake of the Ozarks 2024. We installed our Kong 450R kits on Two Doug Wright Powerboats Cats. Both running 130+mph at the shootout and one setting a new all time outboard shootout record at 136mph.
What to expect? Massive difference in low end, mid range, and top end power. Idle, cruise, and drive just like stock. Perfect upgrade for everything from a single 450 engine all the way up to 4, 5 and 6 engine boats.

-KONG Billet High Flow Nose Drive w/ SC Pulley
-KONG Billet 100mm TB with O-ring air intake connection, marine grade electronics and seals
-KONG 450R High Flow Air Intake
-All bolts, clamps, and hardware for installation is included.
Installation Time: Approximately 2 Hours Per Engine
